Well, I have a DS650, but I may pass that to my dad, and get a Raptor. What does everyone think of that? 14mins, and the guys that were at Aledo, you see how I ride, and how small I am, everyone kept telling me to get a Raptor. I rode one for a while, and I liked it, but it was solid stock. How much does a pipe add? How does everyone like there Raptor? Any problems with the 2002 Raptors? What is a good used price for a clean stock 02 Raptor? Man we went up to Richardson Motorsports, and Motion Cycle today, and saw the new 03' Red and Black Raptors. Sweet!

Hey man i was out there in aledo saturday, you were pretty small on that thing.(I'm #91 in your dusti's crack pic) I would go with whatever you can handle better, didn't look to be having much of a problem with the DS though. That thing could move with you on it. My raptor is an 02 and i have had no problems with it.

adam, you rode the raptor on the track and the strip. Did you ride the raptor out on the trails? What kind of riding will you be doing the most of. Were you able to ride the track and trails different on the Raptor than the DS? What about the trails? You said it only took you 20 minutes to learn to do a wheely on the raptor and it took you a lot longer on your DS. It does seem to take a BIGGERisbetter or Dusty size person to throw around a DS.

Yeah, I took the Raptor through the trails. It was awesome! I realized why all the raptors were so aggressive in the woods, they aren't worried about hitting trees, like I am with my DS. I really like to jump, though, and I jumped on that raptor. Ouch! my DS is soo much plusher, but, the DS is set up for my weight. Maybe just some shock adjustments. If we do get that raptor, I plan on a slightly wider axle, maybe a +2, and some front offset rims, and shocks. I feel more stable with the DS, but I could tell the weight after I rode the raptor. They both have there good points. I think we will set the Raptor up for trail, and the DS set up for dunes, and Drag. Sound good?

sounds good. depending on how much off-set you go on the front wheels you will need to think about a stabilizer. I have 2.5 inch off-set wheels and you can sure feel it after a while of rough riding. It does depend on how fast and how rough the trails are.

Hey Adam. You looked faster on the track with the Raptor. The Raptor gets even better with a pipe. Don't forget to replace front shocks also{they lick}. I wouldn't pay more than $5K for a like new one because you know that is what I sold my '02 for and a new one can be bought for not much more.

Hey thanks, Rod, and Bob, Hey Rod, love my tire flys, they're awesome! I think we will just have to get that raptor, now that I rode one. My dad had so much fun down in Aledo last weekend, he wants to come back this weekend to show everyone pictures (that's his excuse) we just might go down there with a DS, and come back with a DS and Raptor. Maybe if I get a raptor, I can talk Mark into selling me his Gyrt exhaust cheap, because I hate the sound of a stock motor! Crap!, now l'll have to go, and learn all about another machine. Oh well, guess I should go read up!

P.S: If we go out there this weekend, Bob, can I take your raptor for a ride, to see what a piped one feels like?

Adam i have a 02 raptor and i love it.A pipe, jet kit and pro flow filter really woke it up you can lug in the gears and still have throttle response. I haven't had any problems with mine but i have only had it for 2 months. But man what a difference between stock and with a pipe.i just put a slip-on on mine and it still rocks. it will pull wheelies lugging in third gear and will pull them in 4th with a little effort.
