I tried to order one for mine, received an email from them telling me that it would NOT work. If you cross check the parts fiches, you will see that the front drive shaft and ujoints carry different part numbers between 99 and 00.

If you are able to adapt it to work, let everyone know.

To be honest, after dealing with Highlifter on a few parts problems I had with their piston/cam kit for my Wolverine, they did not impress me as the sharpest tool in the shed,if you get my drift. Since we already have a brave soul trying out the kit on an older model, let's all hope he keeps us updated on the results.

This from Troy racing's fiche:

2001 Wolverine

front shaft: 4KB-46173-00-00
front cross, comp: 5GT- 46108-00-00

They are different P/N'S from the earlier ones. How much different, and whether they can be adapted I do not know.

Mike-

heres what I found

1996 front yoke out of front diff
20 4KB-46146-00-00 YOKE, JOINT 3 1 $135.12

2000 front yoke out of front diff
20 4KB-46146-12-00 YOKE, JOINT 2 1 $99.73

1996 front drive shaft
31 4KB-46173-00-00 SHAFT, DRIVE 2 1 $60.60

2000 front drive shaft
30 4KB-46173-10-00 SHAFT, DRIVE 2 1 $46.83

1996 u-joint assembly
25 4GB-46108-10-00 CROSS JOINT COMP. 3 2 $175.54

2000 u-joint assembly
24 5GT-46108-00-00 CROSS JOINT COMP3 2 $136.06

After double checking my #'s, I posted the part #'s for the rear drive shaft assmebly in my earlier post.

From the pictures on the microfich it looks like there are only minor differences in the setups from 1996 to 2000 although it will be tough to tell without trying the conversion in person.

Let me know how it goes as I am extremely interested in your results.

By the way , how is that 500 motor holding up?

great!! this thing is a blast to ride. it is really fun on the trails in the woods. it can keep up with anything on the woods and tight trails. i rode with a suzuki 400z, had a blast and kept up. mickey at fst discontinued the 500 kit. i got the second last one. not a real big market for it. he is to busy with a lot of other work. i put a bigger cam in it this weekend, but haven't had a chance to ride it yet. this unlocker will work. i talked to one of the higher ups at highlifter and he told me he thought it should work, but they are not sure. he was trying to find the plant manager to ask him the difference but couldn't find him. i am to call him to tell how the project went. he wants to know how hard it was and did i have to jump through two hoops to get it in. i still don't know what highlifter sees that is so different. if i have to, i will order a new yoke off of the front diff. and the yoke off of the front of the motor for the output shaft for a 2000 wolverine. mike

Andrewtheman- if the shaft on the differential yoke is splined differently or the ring gear is different than this could be quite a project.

Even if it is just the Yokes that are different, you can figure in u-joints , and various other hardware. Best case you will add $300 or more to the cost of the 4x4 to 4x2 conversion.

Lets just hope that Tripower finds a way to make it fit.
