I heard this key add 2.5 HP to a Banshee for under $30.00
Does this mod really do what it says, or is it a waste of $30.00 like the Boost Bottle was.
Thanks

Well, I have heard it both ways with e degree key. Advanced timing is a proven power adder up to a point of course so I do believe it adds power. If you get one you have to get the flywheel puller too, that's a must so it really costs about $36 total, 24 for the key and 12 for the puller. I added mine the same time as my cool head so can't tell which component gave how much gains.

If you get the degree key make sure you follow the instructions with regard to torquning the nut down and have the proper tools for removal. If you don't torque to 60 ft/lbs you will probably shear the key. I have seen dyno runs of the key and according to them there was a 2.5 HP boost.

This is an excellent addition to the Banshee.....adds a broder power curve as well. I have had good luck with the drag key on mild Banshees as well.

Will doing this make the machine run any hotter or any other negative things.

The standard key supposedly does'nt make a Banshee run hotter.....the drag key DOES make the Banshee run hotter after long high rpm usage. THis is why the drag key is recommended for MX and short high rpm bursts while riding. IMO, I suspect both keys increase engine temp slightly, it's just not noticable unless you are on the edge of boiling over now.....which could be an array of problems.
