I need to wire up a tether kill switch so I can race my Raptor this weekend, on my two strokes it was dead easy, simply plug in instead of the ignition switch and it works, With the Raptor and it's spaghetti of wiring I'm stumped, my switch is a closed circuit with the plug - tether out, broken circuit with it plugged in

SO where is the best place to cut an earth into the system. I pulled the stop switch apart but this seems to be a circuit open = killed deal .................. if anyone has a scanned wiring diagram or can tell me how where they cut there switch into the wiring i'd really appreciate it.....................

thanks in advance guys

McFly here from South Africa.....

I lived in London for 3 years, so have many Kiwi mates.....even some in Aukland. Put an Ausie, Kiwi and a south african(yappie) in a pub, give them plenty of beer and show some rugby on the big screen, and you've got yourself a competition.
Are the All Blacks ready for the tri nations this year?

.......Sorry I diverse from the topic at hand

Cheers

That method of wiring the kill switch is correct. The only thing I changed was I didn't cut the orange wire, I only strippedthe insulation off and wrapped the kill switch wire around it, then soldered it. As far as damaging the CDI, when you hit the stock kill switch on the handlebar you are doing the same thing; shorting a wire to ground. I made a lot of phone calls back when I installed my tether switch just to make sure it wouldn't damage the CDI.

On alot of other bikes that is the case, off switch is simply an earth.

On the raptor, the off switch is a power interupt, no power no spark.
