I have a 2000 Kodiak 400 4x4 and has been an excellent bike. I've heard a dealer say that the 450 wasn't any noticable difference in power. It's wider so should be pretty stable which I always thought mine was. Hopefully, it still has low range for going down steep hills, otherwise they messed it up.

Generally, you never have to mess w/ the belt on a Yamaha. Mine has been water tight w/ water/mud up to the seat. They tend to sputter in deep water and you have to put dielectric grease in the spark plug boot to cure.

02 Eiger 5sp 4x4 / nice bike so far/ outruns my Kodiak except for top end.

I have had a 450 for three weeks. Been in shop for two weeks. Knuckle assembly broke, part on back order no etstimated delivery . check with dealer about availability of parts and service before you buy
