I am looking to add some aftermarket mods to my 2002 raptor. It is stock so far and was wondering how much HP would be gained from adding a pipe, jet kit and filter and would these mods have an effect on the engine's life in the future? I don't want to burn it up in 2-3 years.

The stock Raptor is very restricted in it's breathing.

I have the Curtis Sparks X6 pipe with stainless head pipe & spark arrestor, Pro Design adaptor w/ K&N & Outerwears & Dynojet stage 2 kit. I'm in the 45 HP range now!!!
But even better than a dyno reading my A$$ dyno said WOW!! more power everywere & much better mid range throttle response!

The Sparks pipe is a very good looking quality set up & the people at Sparks are great to work with.

See what the X6 looks like on my raptor it's on the Curtis Sparks web site. My quad is on the Raptor exhaust page at the bottom, Herbdons quad is on the Raptor engine page. Just click the small pics to get a full size pic (mines bigger than Herbdons!! LOL!!).

Most the top pipes will make similar power but I have nothing but good things to say about Sparks pipe & people!!

As far as reduced engine life the stock engine is overbuilt for it's power output, I don't think just adding a pipe, header, filter & dynojets will affect the life of the motor.

i like the X-6 pipe but i would go w/ the yoshi comp. not too loud, get gains and u get to keep ur heat sheilds ( plus dirtwheels picked it has its winner in the pipe shout out). if u will be riding in the dunes u may wanna got w/ a foam style filter, uni or something like that. K&N if u ride trails, an outer wear isn't a bad idea. i'm not a fan of jet kits, to much for too little!... my 2 cents

My dad has the Ct pipe kit on his raptor and it helped a lot check it out at www.ctracing.com. According to dirt wheels raptor pipe shootout it had the most hp gain.

I have heard a lot of talk about the trinity pipes, but are they worth the money, or should I go for a more economical pipe since I just plan on gettinga slip on and not doing any piston work which benifit from a whole new header and pipe package?
