I am wondering if anybody knows if there has been any changes made to the trans or starter specifically, on the 03 Raptor?

Anything change besides the plastic colors?

Yamaha needs to make some changes to the starter, that is for sure. Way too many failures out there, it should be updated and soon!

I also "heard" some news (I will not tell from who) that Yamaha lost a recent suit filed against them because of the 01 tranny. Has anyone else heard any news on this. It was not from the CSPC (or whatever), but another organization. I would guess it will be appealed by Yamaha, but they should have to replace them "WHEN" they fail.

Supposedly the only changes for 2003 are color of plastic. Black/Red, and Black "Special Edition" model with blue flames.

 

hey swytak, what's up man? that's exactaly what us 01' raptor owners need, that type of info. thanks for your help when my 01' tranny blew. it's now been a year since yamaha payed to repaired my 01' raptor, no problems yet to this day (keepin my fingers crossed tho). we need to seek out this type of info and find out if theres any truth to this and SMEAR it all over the web. i'd be more than happy to do this myself, if ya give me an idea where to start looking?
