I have just tore apart and rebuilt my carb on the 87 Big Bear 350 4x4. It cranks, idles, and runs great. Since it is my utility I do not care if I am at peak HP I just want to make sure the mixture is safe for the engine.

How do you recommend setting the Air-Screw, I am currently 2 turns out.

Again it cranks on one pull (getting a new battery today) without juicing it, Idles smooth, Accelerates good and runs out on top good.

Once Project BigBear (Stock Restoration)is complete it will become the Wife's to tag along on the ride.

Two turns is a good start, the quickest way to check your idle mixture is to get the quad good and warmed up,then find a short downhill run,or a straightaway. Run up to 3rd gear, get a decent speed going, then let totally off the throttle, letting it coast. If it decels smooth, you are set,if you hear little pops or stutters in the engine, the idle mix is a little lean, open it a 1/4 turn, and retest until it sounds smooth on a coast.
