I have a 2000 Wolverine, the problem is when I'm in 2,3,4,gears with low rpm's, and give it throttle, it sputters until I hit higher rpm's. I have taken the carb. apart and cleaned it out, new plug, cleaned air filter, but still continues to act up. Someone told me to adjust the pilot needle in the carb. Could the valves need adjusted?
Any help would be appreciated.

Kinda sounds like what happened to my friends 2000 wolverine. His parking brake sensor on the handlebars left brake control was malfunctioning.. wont let the quad rev out when its engaged. Make sure its right or disconnect it alltogether.

Even though it only sputters until top end it could still be the switch

i've heard the same thing about the wolverine,in fact i bought a 2000 wolvy about 6 months ago and that was one of the things that the guy told me,he said if it happens just wiggle the sensor, its the little plug in the goes up to your parking brake, but i havent had any problems, dont know if thats your problem because i dont think you would be able to rev it up if it was the sensor, wouldnt hurt to check it though.have you done any jetting or any kind of mods ?that might help figure out what could be the problem

I had that problem and it was the parking brake sensor. I have heard it malfunctions alot on Wolverines. I just diconnected it under the stearing stem. Just a simple plug.

I just got my 01' back from the shop I spent hours trying figure it out,it did the same thing sputtered through the gears than it wouldnt start at all. I cleaned the carb, airbox, filter, plug and still got nothing so I took to my dealer. The problem was the parking brake plug on the handlebar, came loose and got dirt in it, "so they say" and they also said there was dirt in the carb, now I find that a little hard to beleive considering I cleaned the thing right before I took it in. I'm really not sure what the problem was but I do believe it was the parking brake. Someone on here said they make a block off kit for it but I still havent found one if anybody knows fill me in.

Thanks alot for all the info. I did think about the parking brake saftey switch. I did not tear it apart but I will now. I did tear the carb. apart, adjusted the pilot needle up one notch, took it for a ride and it was worse. Took carb. back apart adjusted needle down one notch. Will put back together tomorrow and take it for a ride. Will let you know how it does. Thanks

After I unplugged it I taped over the plugs just to be safe. I guess you could say thats my block off kit.
