I have a Vortex twist throttle on my warrior. With manual clutch, I think twist is a must have. On a auto utility, I like thumb throttle. I am used to riding motorcycles, and it lets you have a lot more acceleration control with clutching/throttling. The problem only ive ever encountered with the twist on my quad is when riding through lots of water. Sometimes it slips, making it hard to spin the throttle.

<< It was the first thing I did to my raptor.Thumb got wore out in about ten min. I've had many dirt bikes this is my first quad.I don't know how you can use the front brake while working the throttle with your thumb. >>

If you are using your front brake, you shouldn't be on the gas at the same time anyways.....unless you are trying to burn out, otherwise you would be defeating the purpose.

I had a big story explaining my likes & dislikes & why I chose the thumb over the twist but the damn thing didn't post & I'm not typing it again.

So I'll just say that I've tried a twist throttle & didn't like it.

I love my twist, my thumb does not get tired, and if someone wants to ride my bike I have an excuse not to let them because I tell them that it is harder to ride. Took me a while to get used to it because I never rode dirt bikes etc. but now that I have it I love it. I have not really had any bad experiences.
