lol.......

I dont currently own a banshee, but I used to and will be buying another just for a spare bike and to build into the perfect beast

I had a banshee that went three years on the stock setup. I traded it on something else and it still ran fine after I sold it.

If you take care of the machine it will take care of you. I also have heard of people having to do top ends after only 6 months, I think break in is the most important thing.

Hope that helps

I think this applies here doing ride maintinance after and before each ride and running good oils and ratios. Who says zillas arent reliable I definately dont.

My playbike has been rebuilt twice since new in 99. The tt bike was still stock and running good when I had the engine built, it is also a 99. I bought both used so I don't know about their break-in. I will be rebuilding the TT engine as required throughout the season, and the playbike every year.

Here is how I break in a 2 stroke engine:
Start it and let it idle until warm. After it is up to temp, ride it for about 1 minute at low-mid engine speed (some people tell you 1/4 throttle, but you can spin a banshee to 9000 at 1/4 if you hold it for a few seconds). Then, over the next 3-4 minutes, use short (2 or 3 seconds) bursts of full power in second or third gear. Shut it off and let it cool. Start it back up and let it warm. Now use 3-4 second bursts of full power in 3-4 gear. After 5 minutes, shut it off. Let cool, start and bring to temp. 5-6 seconds in 5-6 gear.
This is a combination of my thoughts and FTZ's recommendations. I have had good luck breaking in motors this way.
