it may be your rev limiter kicking in. when exactly does it bog? after a couple seconds at full throttle, or instantly?? try this short shift (low rpm shift)to 2nd,full throttle, short shift 3rd, full throttle does it bog when you do this? if it does you do have a problem. the 4 stroke motors definitly dont rev out like a banshee built more for low rpm torque, than high rpm hp but you should still be able to get somewhat high without breaking up. i agree with CTRap too much jet. also notice 18 plates in white bros pipe try putting back smaller jets and removing plates from pipe. im closer to sea level but my 96 has 150 jet 7 plates & took airbox lid completely off . i can wind up pretty high without breaking up.has awesome power for a warrior. it still sounds alot like a vaccuum leak though on yours. idle the bike and spray carb cleaner around carb and intake. any change in the idle you have a leak. it doesnt take much to damage the rubber intake and it sounds like its been on off a few times. good luck

you said you took parking brake off? did you remove parking brake cable at clutch lever? if you did you need to lock the limiter in place! if you didnt take the cable off do that now and you will see kind of oval shaped piece on top looks like it has a button on it and it moves easily backward and forward? that piece should be all the way forward. take a wire tie strap and put it in the slot where th cable was and lock the limiter all the way forward does it still bog??? thats another prob with my cousins 2000. im a mechanic so i see weird stuff

if it's a 2000 and you never adjusted the valves you might want to give that a look. I had my valves adjusted for the first time on my 2000 grizzly and they were way out of wack. The weird thing was it didn't run all that bad with them being out of wack, however it did run a lot smoother and idle a lot better after it was done!

I agree sounds like the valves. My warrior does the same thing and it "ticks" at idle which in most cases is out of adjustment valves. And I dont see why you would need more fuel if its already drenched MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL!

Now that you have mentioned the size of the jet you are running,I'm inclined to believe you are running very rich, this will cause a bad skipping on the top end,I ran into the same problem when I was rejetting my motor, too much jet,it took off fine, idled fine, but on the top end it missed and sputtered badly. I had misread the instructions and was a couple of sized too big. I would try dropping down 2 or 3 sizes (with a new plug) and see how it runs, then check the plug for proper high speed fuel supply.

slow warrior!...mine 99 warrior ticks at idle. If it is the valves, am i causing any damage by not adjusting them now, or will i just temporarily lose performance until it is fixed? how hard is it to do the valves myself. Im not that great with it.

This problem is recent, my bike has been running 150 with 18 plates for sometime now, with no probs.

We went ahead and took it in today. The mechanic said the first thing he wanted to do was adjust the valves. He said that it should be done at least every six months. We are going out of town tomorrow on a three day camping trip at the dunes. So he did not think he would have time to trouble shoot it.

I am feeling like maybe it is the valves, so we will see. Also, read on another thread that the fuel mixture should be out about 3 turns, it was at 4 for some reason, and my husband had turned it back to 2, so going to mess with that a little.

I will let you know how awesome my three day weekend is at the dunes, there should be a few thousand people there this weekend for Dune Fest. We are leaving our daughter at home, and going to live it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The idle mixture only affects up to 1/4 throttle, top end is all main jet. The best and quickest way to check idle mix is warm it up,run up to 3rd gear, and let off throttle and coast,if you are lean,it will pop on decel, turn it out 1/4 turn and retest until it coasts without the backfire sound. I was surprized to see you running a main of 150 without major engine mods,I thought the stock size was about 145,you would have to be running a very high flow filter and a fairly open exhaust to need to go above 150. The mechanics telling you to go higher puzzle me,too. If you were lean, your plugs would be clean, and you would lack power on the top,and would run hotter, due to being lean. The top end skipping is usually a sign of rich jetting, but valve way out of spec could be a culprit, you did not mention any excessive valve tick noise,it is possible the valves are too tight, this could cause a lot of problems if the valve don't fully seat.Hopefully the guy setting the valves will make a noticeable difference.Next time, just take the front fenders and gas tank off and do it your self, not real hard,a manual will walk you through it,or ask on the forum,we will be happy to send you a detailed instruction list.
Have fun on your trip!!!!
