Congratulations RaptorRyan!! Hey - you MUST let us know how the dyno run goes! And please let us know what all your mods are when doing so. I would appreciate it.... cause that would give me a good idea of about where I am (maybe - at least a "rough" estimate). I want to get mine done as well. But don't know when I can get it accomplished tho.
Swy, I have no freakin idea! I'm not sure what the stock torque is on the Rap, so.......
And I don't know how much HP's it will give me yet either. I am very interested to know tho. That is the reason I would like to dyno mine too. I can ASSURE you it ain't no where near yours

RaptorRyan, I am still picking mine up this evening! Everything is working out for me - so it seems so far... How about you? Still on schedule for delivery??
Will yours be Dyno'ed when you pick it up? or is that something you are going to do a little later?

I GOT IT LAST NIGHT! She's puuurrrrinnnnggg like a kitten. I have not rode it yet, I was waiting for the neighbors to wake up and get conscious. Then I'm heading out for it's first 30 min. ride. It's already had the cam break-in done. I can't wait to get this beast fired up!
See ya,

Okay - it's now Sat morning and I put quite a few hours on it yesterday, me and my wife are leaving here in about an hour to go to the Badlands! So I will unleash the beast today - time to see what's she's got!
Everything seems to be going well so far. No leaks or anything mechanical that I've seen yet. Runs very good and strong (i haven't really gotten into it yet) but did have it up to 72mph yesterday evening. Did not want to push it too hard on top end, so I let off at the 70 mark!
I still have my "instant throttle" response that I had before from my DynoJet kit, I was kind of affraid that I might lose some of it - but DID NOT! I wound up with 155/160 jets, with the needles at the 4th, and the mixture screws at 3 out.
Full days ride today!! This should tell the tale!! I'll report back later tonight or tomorrow. I'll probably be wore out when I get home!

Here is an e-mail message received from HOTCAMS Inc..
Hi Joe,
We would like to oblige you on your request to give out a power curve but, we don't do that because if you get something different than we do, and believe me you will because no two dynos are set-up exactly alike, I can't give you the power numbers.
I can give you a percentage of increase though and the approximate rpm they will be of greatest effect. We do all our testing on strictly stock machines, with no other mods. The Raptor stage 1 Camshaft gave approx. a 11-13 percent increase in torque and hp from 2500 rpm to 6500 rpm and 9-11 percent above 6500 rpm to 9000 rpm. And all this is going to vary on how the machine is set-up and the dyno you are using. We happen to use a SuperFlow and it sometimes reads much lower than say a Dyno Jet or some of the others.
To summarize, the YFM660R cams, both Stage 1 and 2, work excellently with good power spread and delivery. These are "Billet" camshafts, meaning new cams from cast blanks. These are not hard welds or reground cams, and no core charge is necessary. They come coated with a dry phosphate covering to assist during the break-in period. And they come with all the appropriate openings for the auto decompressor.
Thank you for considering Hot Cams.
