I have a 98 Blaster and am thinking about getting a 240 kit. My dealer said that there are a few local engine builders near me that do good work. Should I go with one of them or stay with a company like CT or Trinity? Does anyone here have a 240 kit? How do you like it? I understand that you do lose a little reliablity with a kit, but has anyone had any problems with it? Thanks

I ordered the CT 240 kit and got it all put back together except that CT back-ordered the reeds and the air box adapter. The kit included everything you need except the intake manifold for the bigger carb. CT told me to heat up the old manifold with a hairdryer and strech it over the bigger carb. Can't tell how good it is until i get the rest of the parts. I live in FtMyers, Fl. and could not find anyone with a complete kit to match their price.

Yes the 240 kit from CT is awesome. You will eat up some 250Rs and 400EXs with it. I think I would stick with them for the 240 kit, however I would reccomend Hetrick Racing for porting of any 2 stroke. Also PLEASE do not use the FMF reeds that CT sends you, they don't work worth a crap and are very prone to breaking. Get a set of Boyesens. Check out www.ctracing.com

Thanks blaster668. I also heard that the FMF reeds are poor. I already have a new set of boyessen reeds in it. I'm still waiting for them to send my air box adapter. Do you know if the 2-1/2" axle ext. are any good and are they reliable. I was looking to get the rear end longer and to upgrade the suspension and brakes too. I'm looking for some hydr. brakes to convert onto my blaster too. What to do with all these used blaster parts I have now!!!!!

before you have a blown engine get the pro design intake for the 34-36mm carb, I have a 34 mm pj on my wifes blaster. when I did the conversion I just could not try to make the extra cubes breath through the stock intake, not to mention stretching that poor little rubber boot out and hoping it does not ripe on the first jump she makes. you will not be sorry with the money spent on the intake, call james lucky they have them for about $90

If you want it to work don't buy Trenga's kit. I have it and it is a pile of junk. I'm working on using their caliper and lines with a streetbike mastercylinder.
