Grizzly ride and the DEER
#1
Well, for all of you out there that have been wanting another story........here ya go!
I spent about 4 hours adjusting the valves in both the grizzly's the othere day. Talk about a job. I really DO have to get one of those wrenches that are a "two-in-one" for the valve. Would have saved me alot of time! Also, a good ole "monkey" to do the teardown and assembly too!!!
Anywho, i went for a test ride on the wife's bike first. Awsome! That is all i can say. Her bike is fast, fast, fast. Mine on the otherhand....well i will do circles around her, but only in the MUD.
ok ok....i was opening up my bike just to see what i could reach at the TOP END of the bike and something told me to slow down. I didnt even get it up over 50, when that lil voice in my head was telling me something was wrong. As soon as (and i mean the very second) i let of the gas, a doe jumped RIGHT in front of me. All i kept thinking about (in the 1/2 second i had to think) was about the guys on the forum that had talked about hitting a deer. I NEVER thought that "I" would hit a deer......i mean....how could you? Wouldnt you see it coming? Wouldnt you have time to respond?
NO....there was absolutely no time to respond. I hit bambi doing at least 45mph. The bike slid sideways for a couple of feet and i was able to get it straight again. Will sliding, i saw the deer (kinda out of the corner of my eye) and it was doing a 360 on its side. No slower than it took me to knock it over, the thing was back up and off running. As for me, well i got the bike to a stop, PEELED my hands off the grips, and stood up off the pile of SH*T that i just layed on the seat. My stomach felt like i had just been hit by Mike Tyson.
After a few seconds of "gathering" myself, i went to the front of the bike to see what it was going to COST me. Not all that bad really. I just bent the driver-side bumper in a little and must of caught most of the deer with the tire. There was a small patch of "rug" on the fender. I went to wipe it off and CUT my finger! No wonder the deer had a patch of skin taken off....that plastic has some REALLY sharp edges!
Back to the house i went....I am still wiping dingle-berries from my ***.

This may have scared you, but down here in MS that would be a proud moment. You'd see a redneck givin himself a high five (if he had no one to celebrate with) after hittin an elusive horned forest creature. We ride fields in the delta quite often, and if we see a deer the chase is on. Just gotta watch out for those irragation ditches . Good story, keep em coming

Well, I;m glad you are ok, if you keep putting on miles, pretty soon you will have done everything on a wheeler that you can do, next you need to hit a mountain goat on the side of a cliff!

Tell ya what....
If i even SEE a mountain goat up here.....that would be enough to sh*t the ole britches! hehe
I really do hope that i DONT have many more stories for here...lol, each one seems to be somewhat "life threatening".
I will let you know how the trip goes this sunday as well as the big trip on the 16/17th.

As often as I see these deer I need to learn how to throw a rope or have a rocket powered rope gun and catch these deer.
I can sit in a deer stand and hardly ever see one and as soon I get the raptor out its almost like they know its time to race the raptor on the trails.
These deer cheat though and always take short cuts through the woods that I can't take.
Cheatin deer are probably tough to eat and would require lots of meant tenderizer.
