My wolvy is tapping I need to adjust the valves anybody know how to do it and the settings. And if its a b!tch or an easy fix. Another question is I got a winch and the mount kit requires me to move the oil cooler back about 8 inches do they make shorter oil lines or should I just cross them over each other to take up the slack Its directions say to cross them over but one nice stick in the wrong direction bye bye oil line . Its a superwinch mount so Im sure somebody has used this before.

The bumper, front fender and gas tank have to come off, after that it is pretty easy to get at the valve covers. I'm assuming you know how to set up the motor on TDC, the valve settings are: intake .0024 - .0039 in,or.06 - .1 mm, exhaust is .0063 - .0079 in,or .16 - .20 mm. Just set them to .003 intake and .006 exhaust and you'll be fine. If you need specific instructions, let me know.
You can probably have shorter lines made, places like NAPA auto parts custom make hydraulic hose, bring one to them to get the right end fittings, they should be able to help you out.

Thanks for the spec numbers. I just had the bumper off to mount the winch, looks like shes coming back off. The lines I just crossed, IT seemed liked it was going to be to much of a cross and they were going to kink but its alright. Does yours seem to running really hot? I dont know if the weather is affecting it in anyway but man it gets so hot. Im wondering if a bigger oil cooler would do anything?

Yep, mine runs a little warm, what was Yamaha thinking, just a 3 core oil cooler!!???, If you can find a Kodiak or Big Bear, from 95 on up,cooler,it is a 5 core, will fit with a little bracket bending, I'm looking for a larger one myself, with my mods, and higer comp. piston,I'm probably running a little hotter than stock.
