RaptorRyan our local shop mech. is a good friend of mine he has told me that the 02 raptors are still having tranny problems and the same for starter clutches.I may find that my Z is a bigger piece of crap than the CRAPTOR. IMO the Z rides and fills more sporty than the 660. NOT LOOKING FOR A FIGHT.

 

In my opinion they are both great machines. The old saying their is no replacement for displacement is true. Buy what you can afford have fun but get an 02 raptor if ya decide on the yamaha. Better yet buy a used 01 replace the tranny still cheaper than a new z400 if ya can find a good deal.

OMG - a Raptor owner stating both the Z and Raptor are great machines? Cool, I can't stand the damn bashing on here. ATVs are great and if you are fortunate enough to own one, whichever model or brand you're 1 up on John Q public which sits on the freaking sofa all weekend long.....[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

I owned a Raptor but I never bash another quad. I may point out some differences. I am not brand loyal or biased. I tell it how I experience it. Bashing is not cool and I will never do it. I know to many people on every brand and met some good guys on Ds's and whatever so if I bash a quad I bash them and that is simply wrong. Everybody has a reason for what they own and that's why they own it....

I think they are both awesome machines and both have reverse. According to some that keeps both from being real sport quads. ROFL. Wonder what they ride? LOL

Raptor660RNH, don't you mean UNbiased! I see newZman didn't make that comment about dump truck on nos.

I agree with Sandgod, in fact if every one else owned a Z and I was the only person that owned a raptor I would definitly NOT have a problem with that.
