I got water in the belt housing and was wondering if there is a drain plug under the atv. When you are alone standing the atv on it rear rack isn't all its cracked up to be.

Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think so, you probably need to take the cover off and dry it out. You may need to change your oil a few times as well.

My friend's 01 Kodiak has one underneath. There is a hole in the skid plate underneath like there would be one for the oil plug. I know it's not a 02 but it might help you.

Nice to see another Kodiak owner here. You will find a bolt in a hole in the skid plate right under the belt housing. If you swamped it in really muddy water, you will prob. need to take the belt housing cover off and clean out your clutch weights. Mud bakes in around your clutch weights and results in your Kodiak doing 5 - 15 mph. Not any fun when your 5 miles out. If you were in clear, or murky water you should be fine.

The 03 has a plug that you can get to without raising it up. Just thought you would like to know. The 00 has a 12mm bolt that is kind of hard to get to.

I have one of the first 2000's and it has the drain plug. They all do.If you got more than water in it I would take off the side cover. It has a rubber gasket that is re-useable and is not hard to do.Check you coupler where the front tube hooks on.......it WAS a problem on the early ones. From what I have seen it is the same on the new ones.
2000 Kodiak.
