Stock Raptor Carb Adjustment???
#1
Hello,
I'm new to the board, But so far its been a great source of info...
The question I have is when I first crank up my raptor it stumbles real bad around 3000rpm and almost goes away when warmed up. It also starts hard.
I was wondering it a jet kit will cure this??
The one way roller bearing and gear are being replaced wednesday. Which I think messed up by the hard starting.
Thanks for any help.
Jason

Do you have aftermarket pipe on the bike? what kind?
If so you might to bump up one size of the pilot jet. I think stock is 22.5 and next size up is at 25.
My next ? is do you have tach that you know you are at 3,000 rpm. Just asking.....

I agree, it was reengineered in 2002 but nothing is immune to failure. I always double check the functioning of mine when I rejet, can't hurt to check.
Besides, a hard start condition & a stumble until warm is most definitely a rich condition, that's why I suggested the choke be checked.
Hopefully we will be updated if/when it gets fixed, then we'll all learn something.
