I've had mine for 10 days now and have 130 miles on it. I am very happy with it so far few minor complaints but nothing big. The stock tires grip good but roll when cornering, I had planned on replacing them anyway. The fuel valve **** screw came out and the black part fell off. I will get it covered under warranty so no big deal. The 450 has a lot of pep over the 400 that I have rode. It is hard to get use to the narrow width of the Kodiak since I have been on Arctic Cats since 98. The lighter feel, quicker acceleration and agility are great though. I have no regrets at all and would buy it again in a heartbeat. The big 600+cc quads are great but just not what I want. I am glad that Yamaha redid the Kodiak with a little more power and the diff locker. I also like the feel of the solid axle.

Just went out and rode my 450 for about an hour on field and wood passage, dropped down in river no problems. I stopped on steep hill to back out and pulled right out with just 4 wheel no diff lock. I'm still breaking in machine so still don't know top speed but have a feeling it will be alot better than i thought.

I will be putting some Titan 589 MTs on the 450 this weekend, I will try to get some pics up. I can get mine up to 59 mph on the speedo, haven't checked with the gps yet but figure it to be about 55mph. It will jump in front of my buddies Rubi off the line and they are real close on top end. But the 450 is getting faster, it is awful close. I am still happy so far.

Hello Haymaker,
I'm thinking about purchasing the new 2003 Yamaha Kodiac. Can you please tell me how this machine handles on hill climbs, low end torque and does this machine wheelie easy? Does it powerslide? I'm just curious. I'm looking for something that I can go through mud, snow and be a good trail rider. Let me know when you have a chance.
Thank You,
