The Zilla aint all that. Just like the fish story that keeps getting bigger and bigger with every telling, the Zilla is the baddest, fastest, meanest, lightest, blah blah 2 stroke 500 CC twin cylinder out there(LOL at that one!) Ill take an similarly modded banshee any day. And ive ridden many Zillas...

but to answer the questin, yes it should beat a Raptor.

A 500cc 2 stroke puts out aproxamatly the same power as a 1000cc 4 stroke so yes it will beat your Raptor.
Unfortunatly Zillas are very unreliable.
I've heard of a lot of fixes for the Zillas weaknesses. Go to the Suzuiki forum & ask about fixing the Zillas weaknesses & do it right the first time.I'll be more expensive up front but you'll save big $$$$ in the long run.

Yea, there is one guy that brings a Zilla over to ride........it always begins with some warm-up wrenchin'

When my Raptor was only piped and jetted, he won every single time. After my 686, we were pretty much tied.

The Zilla at the dunes, I handled a little better. I say that only because I did have some clear wins............I had some clear losses too. On hard pack and grass it was too close to call.

I have made some changes.........I'll have to try him again. I'm pretty sure his was a stock bore. A bigger bored 2 Stroke would be a real-hand full!!

OMG not another one of these posts these go on forever and usually have the banshee and zilla guys fighting. I prefer the lt500r and not a banshee I like the low end of a zilla and u can lug it around kinda like a 4-stroke. Thats what I like and everyone has their own likes and dislikes. I know Everyone likes to defend and "talk up" their ride so just be happy with what you have this debate will never end. Lets try not to let this one get out of hand.

<< zilla is a 500 twin 2 stroke >>

LMAO

Back to his question. Yes the zilla should be able to beat a raptor in a drag with sufficient traction. Traction seems to be my only problem. And as for reliability I have NEVER had a single problem with my zilla others may have but I havent it all really depends on how well you care and service it.

One of my favorite things to watch is my friends wife KILL everyone at the Glamis drags on her "stock looking" zilla!! No chrome...just power and a +10 swing arm. She rides a 3 wheeler named "Pee-Wee" in the dunes and pulls out the sleeper for the drags. You can guess who did the internal motor mods
