I run 20-11-10 Sand Devils (straight blades) with 10 paddles.

I ran them at the dunes after only piping, jetting & K&N filter, I thought it did great. I ran some drags, took all the hills. It felt like I had plenty of power to handle 10 paddles. Sure I had to watch out for wheelieing.........but what Raptor owner doesn't. As far as wheel spin, I did notice a difference after upgrading to a 686 in the spin department.

But as far as "can a stock Raptor handle 10 padles".......I say yes.

Hey Michael, if you want 10 paddles......go for it!!

GREG V,
no offense but the Haulers are usually considered to be the best paddle tire & have the most traction. In fact, with the power the Raptor makes tougher Extreme Haulers would be a good choice. At Silver Lake a guy was running the same tire as you on a piped EX & complaining about the lack of traction from a full paddle tire. He asked about the Haulers, which I think have a little to much for a mild 400 even in an 8 paddle. Take into account rider weight, tire PSI etc all change a tires performance anyway. One other thing about Haulers is they are so light. But because they are a shaved tire my girl says they are "ugly". So if style is a concern but Geckos I guess.....
Too each is own though. If you like your choice by all means stick with them.
I need Edges on the EX anyway.

no offence taken Andrew, I was refering more to the 10 VS 8 paddle question than anything. The Sand Devils a lot cheaper than the Haulers and at the time I ordered them I didn't even have my Raptor yet. I had a whole closet full of mods and aftermarket parts waiting for the first 2002 Raptor to be delivered. If I was to be buying paddles right now I would probably buy some 9 paddle Taller Haulers with offset-out rims. I wasn't aware of the option of offsets at the time I ordered either. Live an learn I guess. I am still happy with them though.

GregV,
I know so many choices! I always worry about spending my hard earned money than not being happy with the product

I love the sand though! I gotta get back there in Sept.

Andrew, there is a group of us going to Silver Lake in Sept. Check out the thread in "DUNES AND DUNE MACHINES" forum! Maybe you can make it?!

You also need to forget the lower pressure = better traction with the haulers.
You need to run 4 1/2~5 psi in them for best traction. This puts a crown on the tire & provides enough rigidity to keep the paddles from deforming under power.
I believe too low of pressure is the reason some have said that they have "thrown paddles" on haulers.
I run 5 psi at the dunes & 6 psi at the drags & get exelent bite & no tire problems.
