I'm looking to widen and possibly lengthen my 02 raptor. I ride trails mostly at Wayne NF. I was wondering if anybody could hint at what would be good sizes for axle, a-arms, and swingarm to give as much stability and handling as possible without making it too much for the trails. Also, do the axle and a-arms have to be matched up in any way.....like if i were to go with +2 a-arms, should I then go with a +4 axle to keep the same overall stance? Or does it really matter?

Thats what I have and its bulletproof. I also added a +4" swing and and aftermarket shocks and it was 110% better.

I think you probably would not like to lenghthen your swingarm for woods and trails aplication. I think they say inch and a half for mx it might work good for woods too. Most aftermarket axles are adjustable [Lonestar, rpm]so you can make them fit your needs. No you dont have to match a-arms to axle.

Also a cheaper alternitive to axle a-arms would be wheel spacers just depends on your needs and what you want to spend.

My bad on the swingarm, but I beg to differ bout the spacers,IMHO if you do any jumping whatsoever stay away from the spacers. What you could do is flip the front wheels.

+2 A-arms are a sweet solution, +3's are kinda big. Flipping the front wheels, (with new valve stems) is a cheap and easy solution, but wider A-arms will improve handling and width. The axle, even just a Durablue is a must have. I bet you could get away with the stock swingarm. You will have to change rear shocks if you change swingarms, it needs front shocks anyway.

If you want the rear of the machine to be as wide as the front of the machine, then go with +2 a-arms and a +4 axle.

A friend of mine went with the Ricky Stator +2+1 a-arms, and a Durablue +4+6 axle. Perfect.
