the old parts guy says, "no, havent heard, but am really curious." since the wrap companies claim a HP increase due to increased flow speed because of temperature movement nearer the exits.
this stuff has never been a big seller where i work, but i'm not the drag strip type either, so could be truth or myth.
But like you, am curious.....any takers? does it work? if it does, buy stock first.
cya ;p

Highlifter has been selling this for quite a while in their 'heat fighter' kit. It does as you say, keeps the heat in the exhaust, maintains higher flow due to getting all the heat out the tailpipe, and reduces heat radiated to the engine and you. The big draw back is it looks like hell, has to be sprayed with a special coating to keep it from falling apart from water and dirt, and can possibly trap moisture and make things more likely to rust. If you maintain it and keep it clean,it should work fine, but I've heard a lot of guys get fed up with it and took it off or let it rot off. I think it would be nice for wrapping the pipe by the air box or fender to protect that area, that way it is also out of sight more, and gets less water and dirt on it. Just my .02
