Brakes again...

Dang its time to replace the rear pads on the quad again. Geeez maybe just 20 hours a set. Reminds me of the printer industry, give a printer away and make your money on ink cartridges. Am I just hard on mine or is this typical. Both OEM Yamaha pads and EBC lasting about the same. Trail riding mostly, mud, sand and hills. Just the rear, the fronts are still on the original sets and good to go for a long while.

Same problem with my 01 Raptor...
Had pads go quick on my 87 Honda 250X...but nothing like the Yamaha...
The Raptor is doing it about every other ride.
I'm going to order a new Rotor & EBC Severe Duty pads.
To be fair I do often ride in Wet muddy conditions & or sand...
BUT ONLY the rears...fronts are fine always...even if I don't use the rear much.
Parking Brake setup SUCKS as well. I posted something similar to this a few weeks ago and the best solution I got was from someone who told me if I need a parking brake on the trailer I should use some sort of tie down/bungee to hold the front brake lever tight...

jp, thanks for the reply. I think part of my problem is also trying to keep the parking brake adjusted and working. Getting rid of it soon as it is a futile effort. I cannot believe Yamaha is continuing production with this design. Parts are on the way to be rid of it. I like the tip on somehow clamping down on the front brake for trailering. Good Tip!
I'd also be interested in knowing if the new rotor improves the wear.
