Does anyone know about the emission regulations coming out? Because I heard something in DirtWheels saying in a few years Yamaha might phase out the Banshee because of all the blasted tree huggers and their regulations. I sure hope not, otherwise I may have to go 4-stroke here soon.

I believe in 2006 the manufacture of 2 strokes will be banned. The current ones will be grandfathered in, but I bet a lot of public riding areas will ban them. I could be wrong on the year but I think that's right.

Yamaha is supposed to leave the banshee out of the 2004 lineup, and "supposed" to come out w/ the 426 quad. Then again its all RUMORS!!!!!!!

So that means that the current 2 strokes (250R, LT500, LT250, Banshee, Blaster, Polaris machines, etc.) will be discontinued and we won't be able to ride them anymore? What about all the Banshee's out there, the 125/250 MX bikes? These bikes will decrease in value because the average person won't be able to ride them. Even if you have your own private area, you probably won't be able to ride them anyways. I'll miss a 2-stroke... *sigh*
