i have messed mine up twice, warranty covered it the first time

i broke a dog the first time, after four months and about 120hours
the second time lasted nine months and they where just rounded with a bent shift fork.

north county yamaha cheapest dealer i have found. thats where i do most of my dealing.

all i do is drag race mine, so it is not going to last like most.

I have a 2001 Raptor with a vin that says 16xxx. I have never had a problem. I beat the snot out of this thing. Put ITP holeshots on it, changed the countershaft sprocket to 12, put a pipe on it, dynojet kit on it. No clutch slipping. No shift fork breaking. No gears a breaking. I guess I am lucky. I mx the thing and I push it hard at St. Joe's. Draggin or just trail busting.

well the twelve tooth actually takes some of the load off the tranny and other parts

i have a 14 tooth, 12 to one piston, cam, porting, alky, nitrous and the only time i am easy on it is when i am drive to line up to race

alba yamaha in poway Ca. has the parts in stock for the updated trans. dont make the mistake of replacing only broken 01 gears with replacements, buy the 03 trans kit so you can enjoy years of trouble free trans operation like you should
