If anyone would like to help out with information on their raptor tranny problems i'd appreciate it. I have an 01 and the tranny failed while on vacation at the dunes. I just payed over $1200 to have it fixed. I hired a lawyer and they said if I can find more people, it will help out the case. Yamaha says it's not a problem with the raptors, and they will help out by financing repairs for anyone who needs them. I've owned yamaha warriors until now and never had any problems.

Are you thinking class action lawsuit?
Pm me if that's the case!!

There should be a nice long list of others on this forum alone that can speak up on this too!!!!

Yamaha would be willing to finance the repairs, that's so nice of them, allowing us more time to pay them for the screwing that we don't deserve. I say buy the 2002 gears & either do it yourself or have a competent tech other than Yamaha do it. The only thing I would let Yamaha do is read your lawyers papers, tehe, f'em, putting out a crapy tranny like that! Every publication in the country says the 2001 tranny was a lemon, usually the MFGs respond to those articles & make changes accordingly but Yamaha just won't own up to this one.

I am also on that loooooong list of folks with tranny failures!!!! Mine went after 16 months and about 250 hours on the quad. My serial # is 1550.

I decided to install the '02 gearset as well. I have only been back together now for about 3 weeks. The only thing that I can thank Yamaha for is: if the failure had not happened, I would not have upgraded my internal parts to my motor! GEEEE THANKS YAMI

Duneriders,

Search for the thread about the CPSC (consumer product safety commision) - or something like that. There was a guy from that office building a case for a potential tranny recall. They probably have lots of info related to your case.
