Have any of you blaster riders experienced a problem where the engine revs wide open and will not return to idle? I have checked for air leaks around the intake and cleaned the carb, it still does it. Also the quad seems like it isn’t picking up the fuel, meaning if I spray fuel in the carb by hand it will start, but otherwise it won’t.

FYI someone has unhooked the oil injector (ie cut the wires), so the guy has been mixing the fuel.

Whats that? I assume its the thing above the carb that the throttle cable runs into?

Actually, you can unhook the TORS from underneath the hood. It is a plug in that goes into one of the boxes. I do not have my blaster anymore or I could go look. I had to unhook mine when it did the same thing. After that it ran like a champ.

You may want to check and see if you have a base gasket blown. It's been my experience that when my son's Blaster acts as you described, that has always been the problem.

When his TORS went bad, it just plain wouldn't idle. No amount of adjusting the TORS idle screw would make it idle.

Regards,

Rog

The first day my friend got his blaster, his grandpa took it for a little spin. His grandpa was driving around in 1st and 2nd gear for quite a while with the motor rev'd pretty high. The sparkplug electrode got so hot that even when they pulled off the wire running to the spark plug, it continued to ignite the fuel and it just kept running. My friends dad ripped the fuel hose off of the carb and a few seconds later, the engine finally quit running. It is just a possibility. I've heard of other people having the same problem.
