I have a shifter that is no linkage
with a folding toe piece I didn't like the
long throw it gives so if anyone wants it
send me $5.00 for shipping and I'll mail
it to anyone that wants it

You are a good man RedRocker!!!
I'm always glad to see others being generous!
I am doing the same... but I will post the offer in the appropriate thread about the item that is for up for grabs.

<< So there is a longer throw involved with the shifter that has no linkage?? Or is that just the one you had redrocker? I would think one like the ebay shifter would have less.... >>
Any linkage-less shifter is going to have a longer throw then with the linkage. I really like anyway though. The shifts are so much more positive and getting used to the throw takes only a day. I think that the throw really changed more in down shifting then up shifting, but that's just my opinion. Oh, I have the steel one from e-bay (not that it matters).

So far, I have seen no mention of the Roll Design S.S. chrome plated linkless shifter. Like their quad frames, it is a well designed piece which has no flex even under the stress of hard & fast shifting.I fail to see the problem with re-setting any shifter to accomodate any MX boot. Matter of fact, in riding observed trials a few years back, many of us mounted the shifter vertically to protect it from obstructions in a section...we shifted with our shin or calf.
