I just bought the Grizzly last week. I used the "0-0-0" option that Yamaha has got going.

They shot me a price of $6399 for the bike and then I added the Snow blade. There is a few hidden $$'s in this deal with the winch and blade that you wont hear about on the TV. The dealer has to options if he wants to be part of the promotion with the blade and winch. (The promotion actucually costs the dealer money to do) SO he either ups the price of the machine or he keeps his price low to sell then adds the extra price that is needed to cover himself for the winch and blade sale.

SO I'll break it down:

I payed $6399 for the Grizzly
I payed the advertised 69.95 for the Blade
I payed $180 for that part that he didn't want to eat SO you could say it was the install and mounting kit!!
then the tax was like $398 or something.

SO adding it all up it was $7,046.95 for a 02 Grizzly just out of the box and a yamaha blade that would have cost me $450 if there wasn't a promotion going on.

The deal to me, was good since the Yamaha dealer in my town wouldn't budge on the price of the machine they stayed at $6999. GOing to the next yamaha dealer to the north of me saved me some CASH!!!

And as far as the Yamaha Grizzly goes, I love it. Been playing in the river, the ditches, and what a machine. Only got 10.5 hours on the machine so far. But I love it, gots power, speed, awesome suspension, will go pretty well in the mud for crappy tires it has. It will be a grizzly always for me.

You are correct. The dealer is charged a certain price for the winch (or Plow) and that price is based on how many units the dealer has retailed in a certain previuos time frame. There is a dealer I know of where the winch cost him nothing (he is a very large volume dealer). And another dealer that I know is paying about $20 more than the advertised special of $69 (he is paying $89).

Both dealers charge $60 for installation, which I think is fair.
