Banshee's top speed
#11
Yeah some stories people tell just leave you there standing and laughing.
I think its safe to say we can expect 72mph out of a new banshee.
I just GPS all my machines.
2003 DS650 Baja = 77.9 MPH Limiter. Had to pump up tires with more air to get that extra few because limiter was holding me back. 75.9 was with factory PSI.
2002 Raptor = 72.2MPH With stock psi.
1999 Banshee = 73.4 MPH. Stock PSI.
2000 grissly 600 = 53 Mph
2001 Traxtor 500 = 58MPH will do 72 down a hill in 5 gear.
This weekend im going to do my Brand new 2003 Banshee after i get some brake in time on it so we will se what they do out of the box. And my 2002 quest 650.

Mar, that was a great post. THANKS!!!
About the only readings I believe from people are those that use a GPS. Sure radar is accurate but how many of us own a radar gun or (As I have heard many times) "have a cop friend" that will clock you flying down a public road.
Did you make these measurements on pavement? I'm guessing you did.

My best friend all through highschool went to be a cop and he was a local cop in the town we grew up in so we could get away with a little more than most of the people. He has clocked me with radar and the new lazer toy he got. As far as being on a public road, no. The factory at which I work has about a .5 mile lane going up to the front of the building. I know I don't have a Banshee but a 56mph for a trailboss is not that bad for a 325cc 500lb tank.

About 2 years ago, I was one of the first ones in La to get one of the first Raptors, the day I picked it up the salesman told me that it would do well over a hundred, I argued with him because I knew about what it was going to run, and at the time I still had my Banshee, told him that my Banshee would only do about 80mph (pipe, gearing, ect) and it would smoke the Raptor, he said I was wrong, and that the banshee was probably going almost 110mph!!!! I swear, they must hire any choad off of the street and let them tell outright lies to a potential customer, funny thing is like PIRANHA said, there are some people that think they have a stock shee that will do over a hundred......
