I am selling my mojave and 300ex to get ummm I think a Raptor. I'm not shure if I can handle a Raptor yet. I'm 14 and started riding when I was 4 and have raced mx in the 80cc class for 3 yrs I'm 5'8 and 140lbs. I've never riden a Raptor are they like uncontralable with power and do they wheelie every gear etc.

Your right thumb decides if you can handle the raptor. If you want to start racing the raptor at the local tracks against bigger, stronger riders, I don't think you will be able to handle the quad as it is one powerfull beast for a 14 year old. If you are just going to trail ride it and drag race your buddies, I think you should be fine. Just don't drive beyond your capabilities.

hey man. My first quad ever was a Banshee. I just got her about 3 months ago, and Ive been in love ever since. Its the fastest thing Ive ever ridden, and I beat almost everyone I race. You will love the raptor. I would consider a older Banshee too, if you are into serious speed!

I've never planed on racing, I just Trail ride every weekend and I am sick of getting roosted on my EX and Mojave I ride with a group fast quads there always waiting for me at the end of the trail that's why I'm upgrading. I found a 01 raptor owned by a 45yr old for $4500

JackelWarrior, I always maintain myn pretty much pefrectly and don't run them too hard so I don't really fear I will be breaking gears or electric start, but thanks. I'm not shure if it will make me change my mind on what year to buy if I can get that one for $4500. Please tell me if you know other faults of that year 01 thanks.

hey if you don't want quite the power of the raptor the Z400 would work. Or if you could find an 250R that also might be a good choice.

I have thought of the Z400 but it's only a year old and it's kinda hard to fine a used one. New is way too expensive. A 250 R would be awesom but they aren't the best trail bikes because of no electric start or reverse, also 2 strokes tipically have a screaming top-end and that's what you don't need for trail. They are still the best
