I've read in a couple of places that Yamaha is going to come out with a 450 quad for 2004. They would use the YZ 450 engine. Are they really going to build such a quad? If so i would wait for it instead of getting a Raptor.

I don't think anyone knows for sure, and if they do know they aren't telling. My guess is that Yamaha will come out with something in this range over the next year or so. So many people like this size machine, especially the racers. I still think Honda will come out with an updated 400 to 450 machine as well but who knows. It may not come out until '05 though so I wouldn't let it hold you up from buying a machine until something is definitely confirmed.

 

I sure wouldn't buy the first model year.

They will have transmission problems so they can reap in the profits for the next couple of years on the rebuilds.

The 01 transmission problems leaves a sour spot on YAMAHA.

Im sure Yamaha have learned there lessons, they will built a better transmission.

 

this rumor has been around for a few years (in YZ426-based guise)... believe it when you see it, but I sure as heck wouldn't count on it...
