Raptor Motor Rattling at high rpm
#1
I was just out on my raptor today, and noticed when i would rev it out (8000-9000rpm) the engine would make a loud, ringing kind of a rattle, sounding like it is coming from the top end of the motor. It still has normal power, and sounds perfectly normal upto a certian high rpm. Any ideas before I bring it to a dealer?

Thanks for the reply guys, I adjusted the valves in the middle of the summer, so they should be ok. I notice when I blip the throttle in nuetral, the carbs will move, so having them hit the pipe sounds possible, but I have the stock pipe. i'll check if everything is tight. I'll also check the motor mounts. Keep feeding me ideas, and if I fix it i'll let you know. thanks again.

The front springs on my warrior vibrate badly. Took me forever to find what was making the racket. Did it with the the factory shocks and now the works units. The skid plate also used to. I siliconed the frame clamps to fix them.

i dont know too much about quad engines, but my friends rancher(utility) has a rev limiter, and i doubt that a raptor would have one, but on the rancher u can only rev then engine so much until it makes this kind of rattling sound........
