My friends all got suv quads. I just sold my 2000 quadrunner 500 ,too dam slow!I am used to riding sport bikes and the suv`s don`t get my Adrenaline going at all, however I would like to do some trail riding with them so I was wondering what would be better for that a Raptor or a banshee?

SUV quads? LMAO.. I love it.. but the TRUE name is Utility quads. But yeah.. If you want the rush, the banshee is the way to go. The rush u get with a Rap is sweet and all, but coming off a sportbike, I can see you on a Banshee and not a Raptor. The Banshees have been around since 87 and have been proven awesome, and the Raps are new and been known to have problems. If you dont mind rebuliding a motor once every 3 years, mixing gas, and having a kick start, then u need a banshee.

Both are good quads, I'd love to have a shee to go along with my raptor. They worked most of the bugs out of the raptors now. Really just depends on whether you like 2 stroke or 4 stroke more

Don't forget about the new 700 from kawasaki!! It is supposed to be the fastest quad currently made from what has been said from those who have rode it. They claim 83mph as a top speed which is way faster than a Raptor or a Banshee.

I had the same decsion to make. I always wanted a Banshee,so I made a phone call to a friend who MX's dirt bikes. He begin telling me about the up and coming laws and how the two stroke may not be around and that he had switched to a 4 stroke on his bike. He told me all the good points about the 4 stroke, pump gas,no mixing,no kicking, less rebuilds and so on. I was still worried until I got my Raptor home. It has awesome power, reverse, and I can putt around all day without fouling plugs. I absolutely love it. I still never have drove a banshee or will probably never own one,but I really don't care anymore because my Raptor can do everything I wanted and then some. That is a opinion of a guy who has wanted a Banshee for ten years,so the Raptor must do something right!!

A big factor will be where you ride. Where we ride there is not way you would want a shee. I had 2 and really like the quad but the width was to much. A lot of the trailes around here clip both rear tires on a stock 400ex and a shee will not fit. I have seen many say I was wrong and the watched them bob up and down back to the truck w/ a bent axle. Also there are a lot of rutted hills that require finness, and that is something a banshee does not have it is a run and gun quad.
In the end it is up to you the 2 new EPA regs will not affect quads produced before 2006 so do not let that influance you you will be able to ride for a long time.
