warrior won't idle

my warrior won't idle it, also has great trouble starting. it starts when it is cold but not when it is hot. it is so hard to start the battery was dead after 10 starts. it has a an uni filter and a cobra pipe its a 1987. it won't idle if i let go of the throttle in neutral it will die right away. i need to fix that. please help

If it runs fine otherwise I would suspect the carb, particularly the idle circuit. Pull the carb apart and clean it well with good carb cleaner. Also go buy a can of compressed air check that all circuits are clear. Also be sure the air filter is clean and not overly saturated with oil.

also check the rubber boots connecting the carb and air filter, if it's cracked then that would make it very hard to start and not idle well.

It could almost be anything from the idle set to low and air screw to the valves way out of adjustment.
