27 inch gators on a 660 grizzly?
#1
The dealer who I am buying my Grizzly from said he doesn't recommend 27 inch tires. Why would this be? Everyone I have asked in the past has said 27's are fine and won't rub the fenders.
maybe I should just go with 26's, or will one inch make a difference?
Any advice you can give would be great. I plan on picking up the quad the 8th!

I've got 27" Blackwater XT's on my Grizzly. As long as you keep all four tires on the ground, they will not rub the fenders. If you like to jump and or ride in extremely rough terrain, you will rub the fenders. I also am an extremely large individual in the 300 lb range. That also may play a part (a small part) in the rubbing of the fenders. Good luck with your Griz, I think you are getting the best quad on the planet.

I don't know maybe I should just get the 26's. I have heard lift kits are bad for the cv joints so I don't think I will be getting one of those. Iwas really looking forward to 27's but I guess one inch isn't a big lose.

Actually its only .5" loss going to 26" instead of 27". The weight of the tire does more wear than anything. The tread pattern will put more strain on the motor also. The lift kits will affect the cv joints. As you can see the dealer doesnt want you to put more wear and tear on the atv. I have two sets of tires/wheels. When I take the Kodiak in for service I put the stock setup on. I have had one stearing bushing and one wheel bearing replaced in 2.5yr. Almost every mile has been with 27" mudbugs.
