I can back you up on that. FOR EVERYONES INFO, IM NOT BRAGGING RIGHT NOW. I just had to get that out of the way.

At Silver Lake Dunes this past July, my 440 on 110 gas was beating raptors and keeping up with banshees til the end, then they pulled. As far as DS's go, I can't really tell. There was a chick on a DS that was smoking everyone, but there was another DS that was in the middle of the pack. So as far as AZSAND's comment goes, yes it is possible, but the machine has to be tuned perfect, a good rider who knows the machine, and a good line. As far as the Z being a better machine, I dont know about better, thats personal preference, but the facts point to better. It has reverse, liquid cooling, i dont know about performance due to the fact that it only has 1 more horsepower, and as far as hop ups go, there are way more for the 400ex than the Z, but give it time and that will change.

i'll add this little tidbit of info in here.400ex's can be fast or faster with the right rider.
three weeks ago at our local 300&quot;ft. grass drags,a guy with a 440ex with only exhuast,stock carb,XR400 cam,and mild port work,smoked the DS and raptor class.
but then again it was only 300ft. drag race,i'm sure if it was a little longer race that would not be the case.

 

I see the same results as killerkx327 every other Saturday night at the ATV races. And some of the 400EX's are only 416 cc's and seem to compete pretty good. There is going to be an ATV Jamboree at this track on the 13th of October if anyone is interested drop me a pm and I will give you the address.
