hi i just bought my first quad, a 2000 grizzly. i read the posts in here and i keep seeing that people change thier stock air filter to a k&n air filter. what is a K and N air filter. how much does it cost? is it easy to install and what will it do for my quad? i hate to be the "NEWBY" but i gotta learn some how..

No problem. You'll see this alot because it is problably the easiest & least expensive performance increase you can get. Getting an air filter that allows more air in yet still filters better than stock means your motor will breath better. Resulting in more perfomance. It's a noticable difference too. Plus these things are reusable. Just clean condition and pop it back in. The only draw back is you might need to change the jetting on your carb. Allowing more fuel & Air to mix.

I am by no means a carb expert so I'll let someone else explain the jetting part. I havn't had a chance to get a K&N for my Grizz yet but I will soon. I have had them on Other bikes though.

www.highlifter.com or www.windmountain.com is a good place to start.

I think they cost around $39.95
Very easy to install

The K&N Airfilter is a A+ for getting all the horse power out of a griz.

The jet kit supplied with the Air Filter will make you Griz even more powerful. You might even consider adding a new Supertrapp pipe, and NGK Spark plug. This will help you greatly as well.
