Locker on a Kodiak
#2
aby11,
The locker is a mechanical device to permanently "lock" the two front wheels to each other, eliminating the slip in the limited-slip differential. The limited slip design is a compromise that allows the two wheels to rotate at different rates when turning, resulting in easier steering.
The 2wd/4wd control will still work, as it is an electrically engaged servo. 2wd mode will still allow power to the rear only, but the front wheels will still be locked to each other. Steering will become more difficult whether you are in 2wd or 4wd.
In other posts including one today or yesterday for a Honda, you will see that many riders using lockers say you will get used to it.
