Default Cheap Fix - Save yourself a lot of money

Using a K & N Filter with no airbox lid.

It is super simple!! The problem is getting a good seal at the top of the air box. The bottom has the groove that holds it in place, but on top youcan develop a gap that you could suck in some debris.

Why go and buy the expensive adaptor when you can just do this. No one will see it anyway!! Spend the money on something else.

All I did was install the filter where I wanted it and drilled a hole straight though both pieces. I made the pilot hole small enough that the bolt would tap it's own threads. Then, just as a safety precaution, I put a nut on it to lock it in place. Simple. That screw probably saved me at least $60.00 .

Or you could get s piece of PVC pipe (forgot what size)...and grind one end into a wedge and hammer it into the air tract hole and clamp a uni onto the PVC pipe. Also run a thin bead of black silicone around the seal. This is the absolute BEST way to solve the problem!! This is what i did with my old warrior and i had no problems! i believe this is the only way to go!

Good tips!!! On my Banshee I did a similar thing. Just put two bolts through the top of the stock filter flange and airbox. There is no need to spend the money on a pro-flow (even though I did eventually) .

That seems like a bit of overkill there hoover650...........now all you need is some duct tape, some binder twine and a C-clamp. Just kidding.

I put a thin coat on K & N sealer gel and then the one bolt on top. There is absolutly no way that filter is going to move or let anything past the seal.

Just my opinion, but it does work well.

Blue Leader's has a good lookin' set up! .............Sand-a-haulic.

Just cut the first 2" of the factory airbox cover off with a table saw (gives a nice straight line). This will lock the filter in place and you don't need a wrench of screw driver to disconnect it.

Even cheaper, you don't have to buy a screws or worry about losing them.
