The only way you'll take down a 400 is if you hit it head on!!! When I had a wolverine, I was beating blasters up the hills in the dunes. If a 4x4 (350 at that) can beat one, I'm not too worried. Maybe someday your daddies will let you ride their raptors, and then you can beat me. Too bad you live in Florida, I'd give you a good view of my tail light. The day I get beat by a blaster (200, 240, or whatever), I'll come back on here and let you know that I've been beat. I'll cry myself to sleep, and then spend that $300 for the 440 kit and install it myself. It's nice having friends with a machine shop!!!. I'm sure the 240 kit costs a stretch more than $300. And then you'd have to get a longer swingarm, better brakes, wider front end, better suspension, etc..... These bikes are money pits, but as a friend of mine once said, "If it aint broke, modify it until it is". Have a nice day!!!! Time to make some more money so I can buy more toys!!!

Call me crazy but, I have to say, stock for stock, I have seen a 400EX lose to a blaster, both 2002 off the floor--broken in...and the 400EX has the advantage of the Ohtsu tires. It all depends on how you ride, with me on the blaster and a good respected rider on the 400EX i took him down, but i got on the 400EX and he got on the blaster and i took him down (not by much). The blaster is QUICK for the little 200. Both of us riders wieghed in at the 125 range me at 125 him at 122. Im telling you no matter how many magazines such as DW the real shootouts are won with the general public riding the bikes. DW's shootouts are won by how many Ad's the companys such as honda (with a good number of large Ad's in DW)...have in the magazines. Yamaha with a good bit of Ad's win a majority of shootouts and about the same with Suzuki. Polaris, very scarce in ATV magazine advertising...do you see many Polaris quads win shootouts? HARDLY EVER. Its not cause their bad bikes they just dont waste their money on DW ad's. So shootouts...do your own and get the real results.
--if you spend $500 on a 400EX and $500 on a blaster the 400EX is dead--
--If you spend $1000 on a 400EX and $1000 on a Blaster the 400EX is still dead--
Personally viewed: 285 Stroker SST blaster from trinity with banshee drag pipe, stretched 6" and a 2001 DS650 with TM45 carb, GRAYDON exhaust, GRAYDON CDI, and all the goods. THE BLASTER WON, both riders, BLASTER WON....say wow to that.
Both bikes are fun and awesome, blaster just a little bit faster...simple as that...plus the blaster is cheaper HaHaHa
