but even if its not exactly 41 is still a lot more then 27 or 30 with most pipes fmfs dyno says 27-28 with there pipe at the top
thats thing it might have 4or5hp in the mid but in a drag top is more important if its a long enough drag
rc350 his son had a piped and ported blaster that would take piped 400EXs
but a quad is only as good as the rider
a good rider can be the best mod you can have

Damn toomy blaster boy y dont u give it a rest, 400ex's and blasters arent even in the same ballpark. 400's will outrun blasters on the drag and on a mx track by far! You will need many more more mods to keep up with 400's so please for the sake of your rep, give it a rest!

Next Lvl Racing... dont get your panties in a bunch man,
rider skill only goes SO far.

Put a rider thats only been riding for a month on my quadzilla... and
me on a 400EX, Im still gonna eat the LT's dust. As long as you can use the clutch properly...twist that throttle..
and know when you shift (and do it FAST), you can AT LEAST put up a decent drag race.

Hey Blaster guys... im not dissin' the Blaster. Please dont think that I am.
What isnt cool about a small light manual clutch 200CC 2 stroke with a 6 speed?
Kick start... no reverse, its as much a sport quad as any.

I just think you need to give the 400EX some more respect, Its 400CC's and 375 lbs. Its gonna walk on a Blaster in a drag race.
3000$ vs. 5600$.

Anyone planning a dunning trip (dumont or glamis) soon, post it up. Im lookin to ride soon.
(even you blaster guys )

Ok guys i started this so let me try to finish it,i never said a stock blaster will beat a 400ex,i know there is no way,and thats why one costs 3000$ more than the other! But if you think tthat you cant put money into a blaster to make it beat a 400ex ,your wrong cuz ive seen it myself blasters and light and can get some good horsepower out of their detuned engine...Put a 240 kit on with a 35pwk carb and a new intake manifold to get the fuel flowing and you can have a machine with at least 30-32 horspower....yes you can always mod the 400ex too but im just trying to say dont underestimate the blaster, they can be made very quick!!!

toomey and peltrax,
As far as the price goes for a 400ex, you just need to know where to look. I saw a new 2002 repo sell yesterday for 2900 and 2000/2001 go for 2100-2700. So if you compare that to a blaster then the mods change. If you want to know more go to "buying an ATV" section and read my post there.

peltrax is right a stock blaster is slower then a 400EX
so why don't we just leave it at what peltrax said
a blaster can be made to go just as fast if you put some money into it

Ok Blaster guys i think its time to calm down and get in touch with reality. First off i myself did have a 98 Blaster, which had a full FMF system on it. i race my friends 00 400ex and he totally stomped me, and i was the better rider out of the two by far. Now the ct kit you guys are talkin about, that is at the engine not the rear wheels. The 400 put that 25-27 at the wheels. Now a blaster with, port polish, ct 240 kit, bigger carb, toomey system, rad valves and jetted could prob hang or beat that 400, but do any of you guys know how much that ct kit costs? its about 1300 dollars. For that much you could get a slightly used 400 and have a full size machine, electric start, nice 4 stroke that has good suspension. Think what you want, and i too love the blaster but ur fighting a losing battle.

NO FLAMES INTENDED----THE CT KIT IS $929.99----

Ive been for the blaster this whole time and i love the bike but why have two strokes when its so much faster to have 4!
