Default Exhaust/Jet kit problem

Put my pipe/filter/reeds/jet kit in yesterday.

The Vito's jet kit came with a 300 and a 290 jet, both of which were way too rich on any of the setting on the needle. So I bought a 280 jet and messed with the needle and still can't figure out why it's running rich.

What are you other blaster owners using for jets and combo's?

Put the Needle Clip in the third position from the top-down. Go 1 jet size over stock if you are at see level. 2-3 about if you are 2500-5000 feet. Hope this helps

So a 240 jet?

Why in the hell does Vito's jet kit comes with 290 & 300 jets??

I would think with needle in 3rd clip and a 240 jet that it will run really lean,no?

Default Exhaust/Jet kit problem

I'm trying to remember my Blaster setup. I ran a Pro Circuit pipe and a K&N Clamp on filter. I ditched the airbox completly. I was on the #3 clip position with 260 Mukini Jet. Some jet kits are different. Vito's 290 might = Mukini 260. Call them and ask. There might be a 1-800 number on the box or a web site.

I also ran FMF gold reeds. Is your gas mixed right?

Here is some help

Fuel Jets, Air Jets, and Throttle Positions
Three circuits control the air: the air-screw, the throttle slide, and the air jet. Four circuits control the fuel: the pilot/slow jet, the spray-bar/needle jet, the jet needle, and the main jet. The different air and fuel circuits affect the carb jetting for the different throttle-opening positions, as follows:

Closed to 1/8 throttle - air screw and pilot/slow jet
1/8 to 1/4 throttle - air-screw, pilot/slow jet, and throttle slide
1/4 to 1/2 throttle - throttle slide and jet needle
1/2 to full open - jet needle, spray-bar/needle jet, main jet, and air jet

(Note: On many modern carbs the spray-bar/needle jet and air jets are fixed-diameter passages in the carburetor body and cannot be altered.)

Gas isn't mixed because it's oil injected.

A 310 main wouldn't even run, like I said the 300 fouled the plug on 2 kicks.

290 would run, but bogged as soon as any throttle was put to it.

Like i said the 280 on the 4th clip on the needle is close, but still bogs a little at Wide open throttle.

I am gonna try 270 on the 3rd clip and see what it does..

I bought a boost bottle and intake manifold for it so maybe i'll be able to step back up to a 280-290 now.
