Default Will It Be Low Enough ?

I plan on racing my Raptor in ice races this winter. I plan on buying +1 or +2 A-arms with the Elka triple rate fronts SSD and Elka Dual rate rear SSD shocks. Will it be low enough for TT type racing ? I want to stay away from lowering kits if possible. Any ideas ?

What about an anti-sway bar? I am not very familar with ice races, location, but I would think that this would help.

Low enough too compete....or too win? Everyone will be slammed for optimum cornering.

Well.....the boys running up front have a-arms that are flat before the rider mounts. Go hard! Good luck!

Couldnt you just buy some spare springs and cut them like a car?

Some of the guys around here that race flat-track run +2 arms with the stocker shocks and yes, they are low!

You esentially want to be as low as you can before bouncing off the ground. The lower the better.

IMO, using the lowering kits are a good thing, unless your extremely serious about ice racing (flat-track, tt, etc). If your that serious, then have your shocks specifically built for that type of racing. If your not, then lowering kits are definitely the way to go. You can add them when it's time to race and remove them when it's time to trail ride or do something else. The lowering kits are cheap too.

Strapping the front and back down is another alternative, but I personally wouldn't recommend doing that to your nice new Elka's.

JMO though.

I know your Dad. I have raced against him on many occasion. I think his Banshee is a great ice racing machine. What kind of shocks does he run on it. I think i have pictures around here of it. Are you going to race this year ? I think we will be racing the numb bum again. The sport is really starting to take off, can't wait for this season !!!!!
