I know in 1991 the XT600 carried the oil in the frame. They must have updated the frame at some point after 1987. Its good that you have the tank and thats one less thing to worry about.

A friend of mine just did that a couple of months to his warrior, just had to get out his meg welder and make it fit then pulled it back out and painted the frame and all and stuck it back in. The only problem now is that he needs a carb that will work with that engine. It runs pretty good when we pull it behind his truck to start it. But when he shuts it down it wont start with the carb he has on it.
