Building Raptor Parts, any Ideas? (anyone with a lowering kit, please read)
#1
We have a friend that works at a Fabrication/full machine shop. We were thinking of having him make some parts for us, and a few to sell. First on my list for him to make, is a Durablue-type front lowering kit. But I need one for him to copy first. Does anyone have one that they would lend me, that they are not using? I will return it as soon as possible.
Also, any other ideas of things to make? If someone has a spare Bumper/Grab bar that they could lend me, that would be something good to make. Or if anyone knows the dimensions of a PRM Baja-style grab bar, and GYTR-style bumper, I would greatly appreciate it. Any Ideas?

Ok, after I get that one, we might build a couple more. We are also having a lightweight aluminum wheelie bar built for us, It will be the same type that THEMOOSE and RaptorRCR have, with round tubing. Anyone interested in one?

Adam- Why copy?? There is always room for improvement. Get down and dirty and figure it out. Make your millon that way.
P.s.- I think the durablue lower kit for the front suxs. I bought it, never installed it and let Chris have it for free (59.99) He is using it. I just had 20 pair made up for the lower a-arms.

14mins, Ive thought about a lowering kit for the lower a-arms. Do you have any to sell and how much would it lower the raptor?

The first thing I would build is reinforcement rings to weld into rims. They want $60 a set of two (one rim, inner and outer). that seems kinda steep, don't you think?

Well then, what type of lowering kit should I make?
Does anyone know if a wheelie bar would work if the bottom two bars were bounted under the swingarm,( like on the same bolts that hold up the swingarm skidplate, but with longer bolts) and the top two bars connected to the same bolts that the grab bar connects to, but where the 4 bars come together, there would be a pivot for the top bars, so the shock could still compress. Hmmm, I don't think that will work. We'll see what else we can come up with.
If it is a good design, how much is anyone willing to pay? I doubt it will be chromed or anything, probably just bare metal. I ordered a few go-cart racing slicks off ebay for the rear tire. Any ideas?

Also, what is the best stuff to make it out of? I want it to be round tubing, as light as possible, but still be strong enough to take some abuse. I don't want anyone to say "Go easy on the wheelie bar, it's not that strong". What do you suggest?
