Default GYTR slip on and proflow jetting on raptor?

I just purchased a GYTR slip on(thanks 14 mins) for my Raptor. I also have the pro flow kit with k&n filter and a dynojet kit,the rest of motor is all stock. I jetted it with 146 and 148 mains with the needles on the 4th clip and air screws 3 turns out and i run with no air box lid. It seems to really rip hard now,im very inpressed with the gain.My question is ,is there anybody else running this setup? Im looking for opinions on the jetting. The dynojet kit says i should run 144,146 mains, but im running with no lid so i went up too compensate. If i rev it hard i get a slight puff of black smoke for a split second, its not constant ,just happens for a sec, just looking for opinions, thanks

Mrhp1, I have a similar setup with the GYTR exhaust stock motor....I followed step by step the instructions for the DJ kit and set mine to 146/148 per their recommendation. Since I had no problems afterward I don't know what to recommend. Are you sure you did everything right? New plug or old one? Depending on your elevation you could probably go even higher than 146/148. I see it all the time in this forum of guys going pretty high but I think they have motor mods. You might double check everything that you did? Good luck!

What led you to your decision to puchase the GYTR over all the others?

A friend of mine just put that pipe on his raptor. How do you like? He loves it so far. It sounds real nice good luck with it.

The best opinion you can get is from your spark plug.

Without going into depth; put in a new plug, run an 1/8th mile strip go to full throttle, back off 1/8th and throttle chop the motor (hit the kill switch) at the same time. Pull the plug, if it's white on the electrode end it's lean, if it's dark or wet it's rich, if it's a tan color it's close if not right on.

There is alot more info out there on doing this, just do a search on here and the internet.

FYI, my gytr jet kit recommended 160-165 mains with the 25 pilots for aftermarket exhaust and no lid but the GYTR & Dyno-Jet kits are different breeds. Hope that helps ya.

Hey skratchnbuldg,Im running the same jets as you are and im at sea level. Like i said it seems too run great, just wanted too know if anybody else had this combo,so i could compare and maybe get some tips, thanks. I purchased the GYTR over all the others is because probably from this forum.I keep hearing good things about it and seems many people are happy with it,and I bought mine from ebay at a very good price from a fellow member on here(14 mins). I will probably install a new plug and do a full throttle test in the near future, but for now ,im really pleased with the new power. Thanks guys

2fifetyx is right about checking the plug but if I recall I think you need a 10x power magnifying glass to correctly see what your plug is telling you. Please let us know the outcome and good luck.

I have the Yoshi Stainless Comp system, Proflow K&N with no lid, and dynojet kit. I am at sea level. I started with the 148/150. It seemed to work great. I special ordered the 155 jet and increased to the 150/155. It still runs great and even a bit harder. I haven't had a chance to do a spark plug check yet. But I will this weekend at GLAMIS!!!!

Hey I just purchased the jet kit and K&N filter for my raptor, I haven't purchased the aftermarket exhaust yet. I was planning on doing this in the future..Do you guys think that I will still get some good gains, with out choking my carb with the factory exhaust?
