Default Rap Sprocket and Chain

I haven't - but has anyone had problems with the stock sprockets and/or chain on there Raptors? My chain is really saggy and I'm not quite sure how to tighten it but Im sure it's not that hard. I'll just look that up in the owners manual. Also, if anyone has replaced chain or sprockets what brand did you go with. I'm thinking of replacing my rear sprocket with a SideWinder becuase I like the idea of having a blue sprocket. So I visited their site and those guys sure do talk a lot of trash on the FAQ's section. So in a nutshell, anyone have to or choose to replace their sprocket and whcih brand did you go with.

One more thing... how much do the chrome foot protector things cost?
(The part that goes behind your foot when its on the peg, replacing the stock plastic one)
That looks sharp!

I got around 80 hrs on my Raptor & the stock chain & sprockets are still in good shape.
No it's not hard at all to adjust the chain, just follow the instructions in the manual.

The GYT-R Heel guards are burnished aluminum not chrome, They list for $130.
I have a set & they are nice!!

For the sprocket I would go with Specialist Sprocket and alot cheaper the Sidewinder. That what I have on the raptor and still going strong.

I WILL never go buy another Sidewinder again. They sold me stainless sprocket and it only last a yr on it. Talk about junk......

Another brand look into is Sunstar. That I have on my Banshee and 300ex.

yeah mine always LOOKS kinda loose, but it works ok. they will stretch and shrink when you lube them too, so better a little slack than a little tight. thats there your sprockets go away, that and dry.
remember suspension flex too, it effects slack. the manual explains it.
LIsten to those two: moose and des, they both have a lot of experience, moose being a drag racer.
they know this stuff better than most. have fun!

Well thanks guys... I think I'll avoid the SideWinder, reliability is more important to me than looks..... usually
